Project Engineer / Project Manager required to support a global biotech company with it`s capex project execution programme. A high calibre and highly experienced individual is sought to fill this position, which will be a key role to manage a range of refit and retrofit projects.

The type of projects will range in scale and complexity. The duties will include the management of projects, defining and managing the detailed scope, RFP preparation, bid analysis, contractor supervision, cost and schedule controls, documentation and handover.

The expected duration of the scope of work is 24 months.

Responsibilities:

- Planning and Scheduling - uses planning tools to hold a complex project on schedule and coordinate parallel activities.
- Coordinate site activities with manufacturing, facilities, EHS, QA, etc.
- Financial management - Manages and develops capital / expense budgets, obtain approvals for and adhere to project scope. Robust control and management of variations. Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to keep project within budget. Make cash flow projections. Make effective use of SAP and budgeting tools. Manage life cycle costs. Take advantage of business opportunities and manage risks.
- Assure that value engineering, constructability reviews and similar processes are effectively utilized to minimize capital / expense expenditures and maximise functional value.
- Risk Management - design projects that are reliable and safe for those who construct and use them and for the environment. Ensure compliance with all regulations. Consider the potential impact construction and on time performance will have on the business should it cause an interruption.
- Innovation - seeks innovative and novel approaches for design, function and construction.
- Demonstrate leadership, team-skills, self-confidence, and effective decision making throughout a project.
- Assure compliance with good engineering practices, Company policies, regulations and codes.
- Manage a safe project.
- Ensure Projects are handed over in a controlled manner with manuals, training maintenance systems and site master drawings updated as per site procedures.
- Follow cGMP guidelines, corporate and site procedures, and SOPs at all times.

Position Requirements:

- Experienced individual with a minimum of 7 years + Project engineer experience.
- Good understanding of Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Life Safety Systems.
- Minimum five years` experience within pharmaceutical site engineering.
- Exemplary record of safe site management.
- Experienced contractor management.
- Experienced in managing and delivering complex programmes with a solid background of planning and managing engineering projects with a demonstrated record of on time performance.
- Excellent communicator and well organised.
- Computer competency, in particular, MS Powerpoint for presentations and MS Project for scheduling.
