***Brand New Role*** – We’ve recently found two Service Engineers for this client and due to significant work load they’re now looking for a third Service Engineer
Samuel Frank Associates is now recruiting for an experienced Service Engineer to join a market leading manufacturing business in the West Midlands. Suitable Service Engineers will need an Electrical background and ideally have at least 3 years experience working in an international service / field type role. Extensive, introductory training on the client’s equipment will be provided over the first 3 months.
The client estimates 60-70% of this position will be non-UK so this opportunity will suit someone looking to travel regularly for trips of typically 1-2 weeks. The client is the World leader in their field, they’re very well established with a full order book!
An ideal profile could be for someone to have worked in a foundry as a Maintenance Engineer who is now looking for a field based/service role. Alternatively, the role could suit an ex-forces individual looking for a role in industry as a Service Engineer.
This role will suit an Engineer who is happy to travel and wants to commit to a British manufacturing organisation for many years to come. It won’t suit a job hopper looking for 12 months work before moving on.
Key areas of experience include –
- Minimum of 3 years within an industrial service industry (ideally MV/HV equipment)
- Skilled in “hands-on” electrical engineering
- Broad based engineering knowledge
- Fully aware of Health & Safety legislation and requirements
- Commercial awareness
- Experience of hydraulics and mechanics (this isn’t essential and can be trained)
- Ability to work within potentially hazardous environments.
- Should have spent time away from home
- Involvement in foundry environment (advantageous)
The client offers a basic salary plus x1.5 overtime for hours worked over 37.5/week (and double time for any hours worked on Sundays and/or Bank Holidays). An Engineer starting on £30k could expect to earn £12-15k in overtime payments in the first year. The client will also provide a company vehicle or a car allowance if you’d prefer.
They’ll also pay 3% into a company pension and have a scheme in place that pays up to 12% of salary in high performance years as a top up into your pension.
When not travelling, you’d be expected to work from the client’s premises in the West Midlands which are commutable from the following places – Worcester, Birmingham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Leamington Spa, Coventry and Wolverhampton.
