Application Support Analyst

About the Job

The Application Support Analyst will be responsible for the investigation and management of BAU problems and incidents raised by my client's operational business areas within the Application Support Team.

Application Support operates as the second line behind the Service Desk and operates primarily as software systems support. The team interfaces between business and technical departments throughout the lifecycle of the incident or problem, this includes initial investigation and categorisation of the problem. Creating an initial work around, documenting the problem, managing the problem through software development testing and full implementation and validation within the business.

Due to the nature of the role and the work involved, flexibile working is required. My client currently operates 7.00 am - 7.00 pm cover for Support Teams with an average of 7.5 hours worked between these times.

About the Candidate

The Application Support Analyst will be ITIL accredited with strong service desk support experience, proficient in SQL and a background in IT Systems Support. You should have experience of Incident Management, Systems Analysis and be able to interpret and construct complex data models.

Any of the following would be advantageous: Business Analysis training (ideally accredited with BCS/ISEB or equivalent Business Analysis qualification), experience of working within Financial Services, experience in Microsoft Office applications, an understanding of software testing (the execution of user acceptance or system test script), understanding of project approaches (i.e. Waterfall, Agile or Iterative, knowledge of IBI iSeries.

In return you will receive a salary of between £26,000 - £35,000, profit related bonus scheme, 24 days annual leave (rising to a maximum of 30) and life assurance of four times your salary.
