Job Title: Trainee Commercial Finance Analyst

Location: Leeds

Salary: £18,000- £25,000 dependent on experience + Study Support + 3% flexible benefits + discretionary bonus + contributory pension

Lowell Group is a rapidly expanding innovative business that requires a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team. This brand new role, based in the UK, will be to assist in the preparation of external reporting, namely Investor Relations (IR) materials (quarterly and annual publications), peer benchmarking assessments and analysis, and to assist with any Group Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) activity.

You'll be responsible for:

Investor Relations (IR)

* Assisting with the production of materials for three quarterly results calls (Interim Management Statements) a year, together with the production of more extensive materials for the Group's annual results. Key requirements include the initial data gathering which will underpin the external materials, first stage analysis of the Group's financial performance (both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter analysis) alongside input to the drafting of external communication materials, namely presentations, scripts, Q&A packs etc.
* First line analysis of financial performance of the Group relative to its peer group in terms of key financial performance indicators, and maintenance of peer benchmarking reviews

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)

* Assistance with all activities related to M&A projects, namely project support and first level assessment with some exposure to initial due diligence and financial analysis
* On-going assessment of opportunities within the market and drafting supporting analysis


* Ad hoc analysis as required to support specific work/projects

Required Qualifications

* 2:1 degree and good levels of Mathematics and English; or
* 3, A*- B A-level qualifications and good levels of Mathematics and English

You'll need to have

* Strong attention to detail
* Analytical and Investigative skills
* Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills
* Good organisation skills
* Pro-active and able to work on their own initiative
* Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
* Ability to work under pressure
* Keen to learn and develop
* Willing to travel to overseas office if required. Travel is not likely to be extensive but may be required periodically or to establish specific projects
