A leading Insurance provider are searching for a 1st Line Application Support Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates to gain commercial experience within a global organisation whilst receiving excellent training and exposure to brand new technologies.

This client are looking for candidates to serve as first/second line support for Business Application service desk items raised by users in their London office.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent levels of in-house support for Business Applications, ensuring that users are fully satisfied with the level of service that they receive, in terms of application service desk items raised. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal business users, fellow team members, and vendors of the application
- Ensure BA service desk items are classified by type (bug, change, etc) and recorded with appropriate details of the issue/request and steps to re-create the problem. Work toward resolving service desk items as quickly as possible
- Escalate BA service desk items, as needed, first within the team and potentially with 3rd party vendor of the application
- Confirm with users when BA service desk items are resolved and subsequently close the service desk item
- Answer 'How to' questions relating to applications
- As time allows, provide training for staff on applications
- Carry out password resets key systems
- Following training, using the administrative functions of an application, perform application security change requests, configuration change requests received as part of an application service desk item in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- With training, modify output templates that are used by an application, based on a template change requests received as part of an application service desk item
- Assist with and learn database management as required
- Adhere to financial reporting requirements including monthly phasing of income

Candidate Requirements:

- Degree level education or equivalent, ideally within Computer Science or IT
- Any experience working within an IT function would be beneficial
- An understanding of Insurance would be beneficial
- Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
- Knowledge of Macros/VBA
- Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
- Excellent approach to learning and personal development, proactive attitude
- Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with business users at all levels
- Strong time management skills, with an ability to work well under pressure
