Job title: Electrical Modification Technician and Mechanical Modification Technicians
Job location:Burton-On-Trent or Derby
Annual pay rate:£30,000.00£13..00 - £18.00 per hour x1.25 for 45 hours+ x1.20 for nights
Shifts:Days with flexibility to do shifts when required Mon - Fri Days, Flexibilty to do Nights and Weekends
Hours per week:Average 40 hours per week
Duration:6 Months+

Client Summary:

Our client is a global leader in Rolling Stock vehicle manufacturing, service and maintenance.

Elec Position Summary

This position will be stripping down a Class 221 train back to its shell and replacing all the Electrical items. You will be expected to complete Electrical re-fits from written work instruction, including traction motors, starter motors and underframe items on Rolling Stock. You will also be expected to remove and replace the entire interior and replace all electrical items. You'll be expected to test and inspect all replaced components with a fluke meter, so you must be competent in this area. This is a Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA).

This could also include the following:

Rip out and replace lighting
Re-install wiring
Test Continuity
Exhaust modification (to reduce emissions)
HVAC Modification
Carry out basic Heating & Ventilation modifications
Repairing or installing Wi-Fi systems
Changing relay boxes
Wiper motors

Mech Position Summary:

The position is based on a busy maintenance depot and all applicants would be expected to complete the following:
* Complete Diesel engine repairs
* Work from written instruction (VMI)
* Work from Mechanical Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements
* Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings
* Routine fleet checks ensuring that the Fleet are operated safely
* Work flexibly with a maintenance team

Person Profile/Experience:
Previous Rail experience is preferred but not essential. Ideal industry's considered:

Process Engineering
Production Plants
Special Purpose Machinary
Defence -Submarines / Ships / Aircraft
EX Forces Mechanical Engineer - Routine Maintenance on Aircraft/ helicopters/ HGV (REME, RAF, Navy)

Qualifications:
A formal qualification is a must
