Etrading firm based in the city of London, seek a DevOps Engineer, mid level Automation and scripting experience is key - preferably python, but can consider Perl or bash on Linux. After some training eventually this person needs to handle releases on his/her own. You will be cross trained onto Build - Ant or maven, Automation - Jenkins. Ideally this firm is seeking an Application & Release Engineer. Knowledge of software builds automation with ANT and/or Maven. Strong cross-platform scripting skills (Bash, Windows Batch, Python, Shell etc.) Continuous integration tools e.g. Jenkins, Ansible. Experience with Java. SQL proficiency (PL/SQL and T-SQL). Ability to navigate comfortably in cross-platform environment (Windows, Linux). Knowledge of source control applications e.g. Perforce. The role will require building and releasing software applications and developing and implementing software development processes in addition to understanding application flows and installation processes. You will work closely with application developers, quality assurance engineers, support engineers, infrastructure team members and project managers. The candidate will be in the infrastructure team and working towards the understanding and management of applications and their configurations, alongside this they will work with a team responsible for managing source code and its integration with the change tracking system. You will help establish and implement efficient procedures to streamline the software development process (using automation wherever possible). Speed, reliability and transparency are the main drivers. To this end, it is vital that the candidate possess strong problem-solving, time-management and communication skills.
