Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machinery

If you are a design or project engineer with a background in automation, special purpose machinery or robotics, this could be the perfect role for you. Based in West Yorkshire, the employer designs and manufactures machinery for customers across the UK. The machinery is bespoke, so a background in concept to delivery is essential

Responsibilities

Assist in the design & detailing of special purpose machinery

User requirement specification

Use and application of CAD software

Maintain a high level of professional and personal standard while representing the company

Liaise with other departments to identify requirements, challenges and technical issues

Identify opportunities to streamline and reduce costs

Comply to company health and safety standards

Experience

Ideally a degree or relevant qualifications / experience in mechanical design

Special purpose machinery, robotics or automation expertise

4+ years experience as a design engineer

Worked on conceptual projects – ideally bespoke, as opposed to a variation of a theme

Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD software ideal – others considered

Industry background in either automotive, food, pharma, packaging or electronics

You must be based within a commutable distance of the Wakefield, Dewsbury, Huddersfield or Leeds areas. but you may be required to travel to customer site when required. A competitive salary of up to £45K is on offer + benefits
