Salary £37,789 to £41,988 (depending on skills and experience)

About the role

The STFC Digital Solutions department are responsible for the delivery of the enterprise information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and services that underpin the STFC scientific programme of activities and campuses. The work we do within the department is key to protecting the organisations assets and is an enabler for the work of the scientific community here at STFC.

STFC’s investments in new digital capability, innovation and partnerships with industry specialists are globally significant for science and research. This new role will be important for the on going support and future development of the business application services of STFC digital solutions and STFC science as a whole going forward.

  • you will sit within the team responsible for the STFC digital solutions business application services, which support the day-to-day operational services and delivers project work associated with service improvement for the services
  • you will have line management responsibility for 4 team members, providing them with the direction to deliver operational services and project development in line with agreed plans
  • analysing and resolving incidents and service requests within agreed service levels
  • undertake project work to develop and/or enhance applications or databases in support of business requirements, either individually or as a team member

About you

You will have a relevant computer science degree or relevant subject matter and industry experience.

Ideally you will have an ITIL Foundation certification or be prepared to work towards this within 12 months.

You will also have a well-developed experience of a wide-ranging business applications environment in an organisation with a diverse range of business systems and requirements, such as; SharePoint, Oracle Databases, SQL Server; VB, C#, ASP.Net, PHP, HTML)
