Our client is a Leading organisation that sells a range of specialist consumer products through retail, wholesale and via distributor channels globally. The business model is moving to grow the retail sales following the launch of a new website.
We are seeking a highly motivated professional Business Analyst to establish a competitive landscape and market model for the business.

The Opportunity:
Qualified to degree level and possessing outstanding IT skills, the successful candidate will provide competition and market data to the senior leadership of the business.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a recently qualified graduate to develop within a growing business whilst making a real contribution to business success through access to a management team who are fast moving and creating a step change growth in the business.
The ideal candidate will be qualified in Mathematics, Economics, Marketing or General Business Administration but outstanding entrants from other fields will be considered for the role.
It may also suit a more experienced person looking for a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities:
*To create, manage and update a comprehensive database of downstream customers and potential customers with truly global reach to include; contact details, current and future usage, price points, specifications and any emerging needs, expansion plans etc.
*To understand the markets into which the business sells and assist the Sales Director to map out the value chains and develop compelling and unique value propositions to drive the business to new levels of success. Price point data, contribution of company products to overall ultimate selling price, robustness of solution, possible competing technologies etc.
*To manage a competitive database to collect and record market activity within the industry and establish a detailed understanding of the capabilities of the competitors within this specialist field. Details of production capacities, expansion plans, key clients, product portfolio competitive prices etc.
*To monitor communications in the wider market related to relevant industry topics and develop the ability to distil this information into actionable activity for the commercial organisation. Specifically reviewing web sites of major customers, competitors and industry bodies together with the general news media to build a picture of the market place.
*Assist in the reporting of monthly profitability by invoice / customer vs. plan and assist in the installation of a CRM system which may be capable of incorporation of market data depending on the chosen system.
*To provide assistance to the Financial Director in cost modelling allowing the linking of detailed activity based costing to drive understanding of better selling propositions.

The Person:
*Qualified to degree level in a discipline with an element of numeric competence, marketing skills would be advantageous although not essential.
*Highly IT literate with exceptional capability in data analysis and spread sheets.
*Organized, systematic data driven thinker with ability to assess complex and fragmented data inputs from multiple sources and deliver cohesive logical recommendations.
*An inquisitive forensic mind with a high motivation towards problem solving.
*Confident and articulate within a senior management environment.
*Self-motivated and capable of setting and achieving personal goals without constant supervision.
