Infrastructure Architect x 4

Our Investment Banking client is looking for 4 highly skilled Infrastructure Architects to join their Edinburgh based team for a 6 months initial contract

The Infrastructure Architecture role is to join a team of Infrastructure Architects who are responsible for global infrastructure design, standards and governance. The successful candidate should have a broad technical knowledge and be able to produce designs as well as peer review in depth technical solutions.

You will have a strong background in infrastructure and be comfortable translating business requirements into infrastructure solutions with scalability and future proofing in mind. You should always be looking to improve process and solutions whilst ensuring consistency in aligning with the banks architecture principles.

You will have a genuine passion for technology, keeping yourself informed with industry trends and be comfortable constructively challenging decisions

This role will be based in our Edinburgh office and reporting to the Deputy Head of Infrastructure Architecture.


  • Ownership of infrastructure solutions, turning requirements into detailed designs through requirements analysis
  • Own all infrastructure and non-functional aspects for all designs
  • Detailed solution analysis and options presentation in conjunction with other members of the architecture team
  • Ensure designs and technical architecture changes are approved via the Infrastructure Design Authority
  • Evaluation of software, solutions and toolsets
  • Adopt industry best practices and methodologies in the proposed solutions
  • Development of the right and appropriate documentation at both business and technical level
  • Identifying, recommending and delivering opportunities for improvement to enhance quality, efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables
  • Stakeholder management

Candidates should be able to demonstrate previously worked on large-scale integration projects with a focus on the below technical areas.

Additional Technical Skills - Not all are mandatory

The candidate should have broad infrastructure knowledge across multiple technology stacks to be able to apply experience to solutions. Technology exposure across multiple of the below areas:

  • Citrix Xen App 5.x, 6.x, 6.5, 7.x / Xen Desktop 7.x, DDC, Storefront, PVS, App-V
  • Demonstrable experience in triage and root-cause analysis
  • Microsoft Windows - AD, DFS, Windows Clustering, DHCP, ADFS, GPO
  • Messaging - Microsoft Exchange 2010+, Lync 2010/2013, Skype for Business 2015
  • Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016
  • Office 365
  • Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Linux - Ubuntu, Red Hat
  • Splunk
  • Mobility - BlackBerry Enterprise Server / Good Dynamics
  • Infrastructure as Code - Chef / Puppet / Ansible
  • Jira, Confluence
  • Symantec: Enterprise Vault / CA / DA / MessageLabs / Endpoint Protection
  • Scripting - PowerShell
  • Cisco IP Telephony
  • Cisco Data Networking, MPLS
  • Security - Varonis / CyberArk / Quest One Identity
  • Firewalls - Checkpoint
  • Knowledge of typical Asset Management applications/systems - e.g. Charles River, Cadis
