About the Team:
Working in the mobile data domain we are responsible for installation, integration, support and fault fix of the infrastructure, databases and applications for the Smart Metering Environment. The team’s responsibilities are end to end troubleshooting of smart metering central and distributed infrastructure, database and application issues. The team also provide operational consultancy to help shape the design, testing and operation of new applications, products and services.
This exciting high visibility role is working as a second line on-call support engineer within the mobile data domain, you will build, integrate and support our new smart metering environment.
You will be a senior seasoned professional with a flair for thinking outside the box when problem solving, you will have excellent influencing and communication skills and work independently or as part of a highly skilled technical team.
Your role will involve out of hours work and on-call rota (24x7). You will also need to be flexible in your approach to travel and working out of hours at short notice. If you are an experienced System Administrator, we’d love to hear from you.
- To deliver a five nines service. Experience working in a similar high availability environment would be beneficial.
- Maintain and support applications with a focus on Hardware Security Modules
- Support project deliverables (SMIP releases and DCC 2.0).
Skills & experience:
- Working knowledge of Redhat, RHEL is essential.
- System Administrator experience in a high availability environment.
- Previous experience supporting hardware security modules
- Previous experience of application support in a mission critical environment.
- Able to demonstrate ability to build secure systems to CIS/SOX/PSN standards and produce supporting technical documentation.
No line manager responsibility. Travel to our test and live sites may be necessary but rarely.
