Harness Design Engineer
RLE International is working on behalf of their Automotive OEM Client, who is currently looking for a Harness Design Engineer role.

Mission and Main Objectives
To successfully deliver vehicle projects to market, design & development of electrical and electronic systems to Design standards. This will include the creation of specifications, management of suppliers and implementation to our production plants Globally.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Development of vehicle harnesses and other electrical components to design/test standards.
Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to QCT. (Quality, Cost, Timing)
- Managing in house and supplier validation of components
Countermeasure determination with Test groups.
Status reporting to management
To observe and work within Health and Safety requirements at all times.
Background and Experience
Having a broad length of experience working in an OEM for harness development. Including completing a minimum of one vehicle development.
Understand electrical theory and the operation of vehicle electrical systems.
Electrical system circuit design experience.
Harness layout experience.
Application experience (design & issue of parts within OEM release/BOM system to meet vehicle specifications).
Strong project management skills.
Have good communication skills.
Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions could be longer.
Competent with PC applications. MS office etc.
Self motivating and self managing. Pro-active. Positive. Energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
Additionally the following may be an advantage.
Knowledge of 3D CAD tools
Familiarity with electrical architecture or other similar automotive architecture
Knowledge of harness, plastic part & metal bracket manufacture to manage Tier 1 supplier.

Rate: £30 - £35 per hour limited company rate
Eligibility: Due to working on behalf of our Client, unfortunately if you require sponsorship for a visa to work in the UK your application will be automatically declined. These are long term rolling contracts.
