Technical Consultant / IT Graduate

Salary £20,000 - £25,000

This role would suit a new graduate but is equally open to candidates with one or two years’ experience.

Technical Degree, Windows, Gmail, SharePoint, Active Directory, VMWare, Networking, SQL, Relational Databases, SQL DBA.

Offices are at Oxford Circus in central London.

Technical Consultant

The technical consultant plays a central role supporting the company and its clients in technical matters, enabling the company to build long-term relationships through continued high-quality support and consultancy. The key activities are supporting the internal IT infrastructure of the business and contributing to the work of the client support and implementation teams.

Although this is predominately a support role, there is extensive scope for external facing work and candidates will be expected to liaise directly with clients.

The role has a number of elements:

  • Office support for all technical queries regarding infrastructure, phones, laptops, applications etc
  • DBA tasks for our hosted solutions
  • First line client support covering ticket management and reporting as well and working with clients on their issues
  • Support for client implementations of our software, including installing and configuring the software, setting up and testing data connections, and extracting and manipulating large data volumes

The ideal candidate will have a technical Degree and be able to demonstrate the following mandatory skills:

  • Desktop support covering Windows 7, 8 & 10
  • Windows Server 2008, 2012
  • Windows Office / Office 365
  • Application Support including Gmail, SharePoint
  • Telephone system and mobile device support
  • Experience of Active Directory
  • Understanding of Virtualisation (VMWare)
  • Networking

Advantageous skills:

  • SQL querying skills
  • Understanding of Relational Databases
  • SQL DBA knowledge i.e. maintenance, recovery, performance tuning and optimisation

You will be working in a fast-paced environment so your organisational skills must also be strong, along with the ability to prioritise your workload where required.
