Test Development Engineer
Working alongside the Hardware Development team and with the WinTest software team, the task is to perform the development, evolution, implementation and maintenance of existing production test system.
" Presenting and substantiating their solutions to their line manager.
" Influence other employees in other functional areas about their proposed solution.
" Support Contract Electronics Manufacturers (CEMs) on a routine basis and especially during New Product Introduction.
" Occasional technical presentations.
Skills Required for the Job
" Technical degree or diploma preferred but ability and experience within electronic product development/manufacture more important.
" Typically 3 years or more relevant experience.
" Thorough understanding and proven experience in developing test methods as applied to Electronic Product testing, ideally within the test & measurement or similar sector.
" Electronic design experience background desired within mixed signal, analogue or digital design.
" Firmware and/or software experience would be an added advantage but not essential.
" Test solution design/development
" Understanding of metrology and the application of test solutions to traceable standards
" Use of CAD/CAE tools.
" Analytical and problem solving skills.
" Ability to supervise more junior staff
" Computer literate
" Outgoing personality and ability & experience to identify improvements and influence/effect change.
" Appreciation of the relevant design drivers and associated manufacturing issues.
" Good communication skills, team working and attitude with professional approach.
" In a systems, hardware/software or component environment, carry out analysis, design activities, development and testing, resulting in a contribution towards a deliverable production test system (hardware, software and documentation).
" As part of the quality function, work closely with other key stakeholders such as Design engineering, Operations and CEMs to deliver optimum production test solutions.
" Manage their own work package in accordance with the overall schedule.
" Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals and technical presentations.
" Developing new standards, processes and innovative test solutions with a holistic approach.
" Statistical test data analysis
