Peter Symonds is located in Winchester. It is a vibrant sixth form college which has been rated by Ofsted as outstanding' in every respect. Our unofficial College motto has long been Counting in Ones' and we work hard to make this a supportive and friendly place to study, with every student treated as an individual. Not only is this at the heart of our work with our students, but we also strive to support and value our staff in the same way.
We have a vacancy for an LSA to join our busy team as soon as possible. Our committed and dedicated professional staff provide support to students with special requirements in the College, both in class and in the Study Support department. Some experience working with students aged 16-19, particularly those with specific learning difficulties and disabilities, is desirable but not essential. Experience in supporting students on the autistic spectrum is particularly useful. Additionally, you must be physically fit to undertake manual handling and to provide personal care to students with disabilities if required. Most important is empathy with young people and a genuine desire to help them reach their potential.
