Our client based in Consett are looking for a trainee CMM Programmer to join them. you will work a two shift rotation (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm)

You will:

• Create & Set-up CMM Programs to measure components.
• Provide measurement reports for customer specific requirements.
• Ensure all metrology for PPAP requirements available on time to program milestones & Annual Submission.
• Provide technical dimensional support for the Quality/Engineering/Production departments.

Main duties and areas of responsibility:

• CMM Programming & Set-up.
• New Product Introduction – Support the Metrology Manager in the measurement requirements.
• Drawing review / feasibility.
• Develop metrology documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements.
• Liaise with customer on dimensional results.
• Support Gauge Concept.
• Gauge Set-up & Validation – ensure gauge R@R & capability study can progress.
• Inspection – support in the set-up & training of Quality Inspectors
• ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Report) – Review and recommend process / modifications to achieve customer approval
• Annual Customer PPAP – support submission.
• Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Conduct oneself in accordance with the terms and conditions set out under the company’s employment contract.

Skills and attributes required :-

• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
• CMM Programming (MCOSMOS v4.0) – Full Training will be provided
• Offline CMM Programming using CAD (CAT1000PS) – Full Training will be provided
• Full understanding of Technical Drawings, GD&T and CAD – Training provided.
• Working Knowledge of TS16949/IATF16949 Requirements.
• Good communicator and inter-personal skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
• Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
• Able to prioritise/anticipate needs.
• Maintain a fair and consistent approach to all resource matters.
• Good understanding of production/quality techniques and technology.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office
• Adaptable approach.
• Attention to detail.
