Server-Side Architect This job is aimed at lead developers or software architects with a least eight years commercial experience in object-oriented development and design. This is a chance to have full control over the architecture and design of an innovative new cloud-based SaaS product that is being set up here in Northern Ireland. My client is heavily funded, and they are willing to pay up to £70k for the right developer including share options. This is a chance to build a team and move into a CTO position within the company. Who is the company? My client is a start-up new to Northern Ireland and the founders have a long track record of success in building technology and finance businesses around the globe and have decided to set up their latest business here in Belfast. Their aim is to redefine how users play games on their mobile devices. The founders firmly believe an opportunity exists to fundamentally disrupt the User Gaming Experience on mobile devices which can be currently characterized as static, repetitive, boring and counter-intuitive. They have developed a specification for a new type of application targeting the Gaming/Gambling Industry which has already been prototyped and end user tested with very encouraging results. This is the first start-up in this space in Northern Ireland providing a unique opportunity to be truly disruptive within a very lucrative industry. What does this job involve? We are seeking for an experienced object-oriented developer/architect to build the platform on the server-side. You will have full technical control on the technology on which the platform will be designed. You will also have the opportunity to build a team and the plan is for the Server-Side Architect to become the CTO. This job will initially focus on defining and driving the server-side architectural roadmap of this unique platform being owned and delivered in Belfast. The individual will produce the architecture plans and technical roadmaps that will deliver on the key business benefits of clean well-defined interfaces, continuous delivery automation and cloud adoption. As an experienced leader, the successful developer will be expected to drive improvements in site engineering culture, promote the adoption of software engineering best practices, mentor technical talent and encouraging results driven cross team collaboration. What skills and experience does this job involve? We are seeking applications from lead developers/architects with at least 8 years commercial experience in object-oriented development (Java, C#, PHP etc). This experience must include developing and delivering high quality solutions in an API Gateway. Ideally, you will have strong knowledge working with Web Services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, XSLT). Knowledge of API Management concepts & lifecycle is needed along with experience with enterprise service bus products. This position will require someone with strong development skills but also experience with systems design so knowledge of the entire SDLC with a focus upon Agile as the primary methodology. This developer will know how to create requirements documents, use cases, user stories and being able to track agile sprints. Desirable skills would include knowledge of Cloud services such as AWS; particularly around the security dos and don'ts. How do I apply?
