Introduction: We are an agency recruiting for a Breakdown & Recovery Manager to assist with the running of a local, well-established Breakdown and Recovery business.

Job Title: Breakdown & Recovery Manager

Reference: KML/RECMANAGER/IVYBRIDGE

Location: Depot based from Ivybridge

Description: To assist the Managing Director with the overall operational running of the Breakdown & Recovery business. The successful applicant will be prepared to “roll up their sleeves” and assist in all areas of the business when required including the Workshop and Control Room, as well as, attending light and heavy recovery jobs if needed.

Overview: Our client is a well-established, local company who offer specialist recovery services to motoring organisations and assist the general public in rescue and recovery situations across the South West of England.

They proactively manage the relationships between their customers and other agencies, such as highways organisations and police forces, to ensure compliance, performance and service improvement.

As a Breakdown & Recovery Manager for this company you will be responsible for establishing a high level of service and professionalism throughout the company’s workforce to ensure that they offer the best possible service at all times.

Experience & Skills: Previous experience working as a manager or supervisor within the Breakdown & Recovery industry would be ideal although applications would be considered from applicants with a Transport or Logistic Manger’s background or from the REME.

The successful candidate would have:

·An LGVC (or C+E) licence.

·Able to work effectively under pressure and to be able to co-ordinate operations and incidents to a successful conclusion.

·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and effective working relationships between the company, the employees and their partners and customers.

·Ability to influence others to ensure a high standard is consistently delivered as well as sound commercial awareness and the ability to identify areas of improvement which can, in turn, impact on cost control and service improvement.

·Prepared to work the hours that the business requires. The industry is 24/7 and highly pressurised with incidents arising anytime night and day.

Hours of Work:Hours to be confirmed

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 depending upon previous experience and skills

Job Status: Permanent with immediate interviews

Vetting: The client will require full vetting including referencing for up to 5 years. They may also require a full DBS check and other checks, such as NPPV Level 2.
