Edward Carter Solutions are currently looking for an IT Consultant. The role is a 12 month fixed term contract, part time. Based in Kent.

Candidates Key accountabilities will be:

  • Working with the Human Resources (HR) project team and Information Services (IS) technical teams to provide technical implementation input into the overall systems implementation
  • Representing the interests of Information Services technical teams to ensure that appropriate support and development services and resources are provided to the project.
  • Interacting with the software supplier's project team to provide design and development advice and help when needed. Including investigating specific IT Service queries and problems to implement technical deliverables meeting specific project milestones
  • Identifying and specifying where there is a need for enhancement to implement integration with existing Kent systems.
  • Being accountable for the quality of project deliverables supplied by Information Services to ensure a stable IT environment, and data security and integrity
  • Taking ownership and making decisions on escalated issues focussing on achieving the results required by the project
  • Working with the Project Manager, lead on the planning and scheduling of necessary Information Services resources to support the HR project
  • Negotiate and acquire the Information Services resource required to produce project deliverables

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • A proven track record of working at a supervisory or management level
  • Experience and knowledge of IT service integration principles, methodologies and tools
  • Experience with software development and implementation lifecycle
  • Good working knowledge of relational database systems, architecture and products
  • Experience of the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective testing throughout the lifecycle of development projects (e.g. organisation standards for testing, planning & estimating, configuration
  • Experience in liaising with software suppliers to determine solutions and negotiating development resource
  • Experience of project-related work
  • Analytical and able to gather requirements and solve problems
  • Good conceptual thinking and diagnostic skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including clear and effective presentation skills and the ability to produce clear and concise written material
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly
  • Ability to document work thoroughly both on a technical level and for user consumption
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation
