We are currently looking for a Test & Installation Engineer based in Manchester

Location: Manchester
Rate: Up to £28,000 per year
Hours: 37 Hours per week

The Role:
*Test & Installation Engineer

Key responsibilities:
*Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
*Installing and commissioning sensor and plant monitoring solutions at a variety of Global sites within Oil and Gas, Renewables and Utilities sectors.
*Conducting On-line (& Off-line) Partial Discharge Testing (in addition to other condition-based testing) at customer sites worldwide. Recognized as a technical expert in partial discharge. Act as an ambassador to trade organizations/conferences (i.e. IEEE, conferences) by presenting papers, case studies and demonstrating equipment.
*Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair and training.
*Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals for customers.
*Attend customer sites to assist sales visits and conducting specialised training for customers.
*Mentorship and training of other engineers
*Developing designs and prototypes, assessing feasibility, determining whether existing equipment, components, and tools require modifications, and specifying modifications when necessary for various installation projects.
*Processing data collected by engineers on site jobs
*Providing data analysis for customer reports
*Supporting customer data service requirements; to provide telephone and email support to customers.
*Update and management of internal Database
*The role requires up to 40% working in the field.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
*A minimum of HND/ HNC in engineering subject or have worked in a similar field for over 5 years.
*Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment (ideally HV).
*Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
*Customer report / general presentation skills.
*Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
*Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interact well with others.
*Flexible team player willing to get involved across departments.
*Interest in full life cycle of test and installation project from planning, testing, commissioning to reporting and monitoring.
*Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and plan effectively.
