Our Client is part of a well known Retailers who opened their first store in 1972 and now have over 230 stores.

As a First Line Manager your duties will involve:

  • Setting daily targets for achievement across a designated section
  • Planning and controlling weekly labour requirements for assigned section / sections, ensuring sufficient capability to meet a fluctuating workload
  • Identifying and reacting to potential problem areas within the section / sections which may require further reporting, including both financial and trend analysis
  • Liaising with Senior Managers to ensure operational targets are identified, that regular measurement is taken against these targets and that remedial action is taken as appropriate
  • Developing a highly motivated team of potential leaders by encouraging open communication and holding regular briefing sessions and chairing minuted operational meetings as required
  • Ensuring all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to
  • Liaising with other shifts, stores and Head Office departments when required, to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate
  • Operating in the short to medium term, focusing on operational strategy, whilst maintaining an active involvement in ensuring daily production targets are met
  • Working to challenging KPIs, understand and produce own KPIs that demonstrate control of the operation, effective target setting and measurement
  • Understanding volume fluctuation and altering shift resource and headcount accordingly
  • The creation, ownership and delivery of continual improvement of operational processes and practices within the operation
  • The role is flexible and you will be required to work on different shifts in order to fulfil the responsibilities of the role and cover for other managers, as well as ensuring a full understanding of the different operations across all shifts

The Candidate

  • Previous experience within managing large teams within a warehousing environment
  • A Leader who leads by example and takes ownership of performance and accountability's
  • Confident in using Google Applications
  • Experience in all aspects of health and safety
