Product Manager/Senior Buyer - electronics/IT/Retail products Location Preston £35-40k + £5k Bonus & Benefits Nature and Purpose: Manage and develop a market leading portfolio of products and suppliers as well as effectively market new and existing products. Work closely with the Business Development Manager to develop customer and to expand the company presence within the market. Key Duties · Responsible for pricing from market research, benchmarking, negotiating cost prices, sales and margin in line with margin guidelines for portfolio of products. · Identification of new opportunities and the development of initiatives around product types · Direct mail and marketing initiative support: product selections, pricing and layout whilst developing and supporting the e-commerce channel · Product lifecycle management: cost price negotiation, introduction, setting and maintaining sell prices, support the removal of SLOB stock, replacement product links and Third level technical support. · Develop and identify Private label products sourced from the Far East and develop relationships with key strategic suppliers and identify new suppliers · Attend and support the companies presence at product Fairs and other shows/events and new supplier identification and approval in line with the expectations of the Business as a whole including T&C’s negotiation, sales targets, supply chain maximisation, retro discounts and payment terms. · Competitor and market research followed by Sales and Marketing planning and support Job Impact · Direct impact on Sales and margin profile of Product portfolio · Manage a portfolio of products with value of up to £7m · Responsible up to 10,000 product lines CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS · Experience within a commercial environment with a proven track record of achieving targets · Ability to plan and prioritise own work effectively to achieve end results · Good interpersonal skills and confident communicator at all levels · Good business acumen with strong negotiation skills · Results orientated with strong drive to achieve sales results · Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities To apply for this position please forward a copy of your Cv with salary requirements to andy@supplychainrec.co.uk
