Quality Engineer / Safety Engineer We are seeking a Quality and Safety Engineer to lead and coordinate the CE certification process for one of the world’s leading independent consultants of simulation and testing technology of powertrain systems. This will be achieved through the provision of technical guidance and support to engineering and project management departments. Office based – Midlands – commutable from Kidderminster, Redditch, Worcester, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Telford, Hereford £Competitive Salary + Pension + Life Assurance + Optional health insurance The Candidate • We are seeking a proven Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Engineer, 5 years plus experience in this field is preferable. • Our ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of directives such as machine directive, low voltage, EMC and pressure equipment directives. • You will have achieved a recognised CQI or IRCA qualification or equivalent. • A NEBOSH qualification in Health and Safety and Environmental management is required. • Experience in CE Marking coupled with EU Directives. • A competency in problem solving techniques such as 8D, Shainin, Taguchi, Six Sigma • Previous experience within an automotive engineering environment is highly desirable. • A valid driving licence and passport will be required for this role. (A small amount of UK and International travel will be required) The Role Reporting to the QHSE Manager the Quality and Safety Engineer will: • Ensure EU Directives and harmonised standards are met to enable the CE marking of products and systems designed, manufactured and installed. • Complete machinery risk assessments, reviewing safety at each stage of the process from design, manufacture and installation. • Develop and maintain technical files. • Support quality assurance matters with suppliers and manufacturing. • Support QHSE matters in relation to customer requirements. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QHSE management systems. • Conduct internal and external audits including ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001. • Offer health and safety guidance to colleagues, sub-contractors and visitors.
