We are currently looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk to strengthen our clients account team based at their Head Office in Warrington. This is a temp to perm position however candidates must be immediately available or have a notice period of 1 week or less.

You will be responsible for:

  • Processing invoices and credit notes, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders.
  • Obtaining approval signatures for all invoices.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Processing remittances.
  • Project costings and weekly reporting.
  • Inter-company invoicing.
  • Processing weekly BACS payment runs and preparing cheques.
  • Resolving any invoice queries with suppliers and dealing with general enquiries over the telephone, by email and post.
  • Providing general administrative/office support.

Skills, Experience and Personal Qualities

  • Previous experience of working in Purchase Ledger within a busy Accounts team is essential.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with Excel.
  • Good standard of general education
  • Self-motivated, with excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Able to work using their initiative, but also able to work as part of a small busy team, working under pressure and often to tight deadlines.
  • Accurate and numerate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role, along with the ability to build good working relationships with suppliers and clients over the telephone.
