Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst
Facilitate development of reporting solutions which will enable provision of automated reporting. This will provide flexible, on-demand reporting, enabling the provision of timely, accurate and relevant information to support the clinical, business and operational needs of the Trust.
? Work with services, Business Intelligence, and Clinical System teams to understand Trust reporting requirements and to develop appropriate outputs.
? Facilitate the use of information and associated technologies to change methods of working to deliver significant benefits to Trust staff and patients
? Deliver key work objectives through effective planning, communication, monitoring progress and working across departmental and organisational boundaries. This includes managing customer expectations and ensuring that others play their part in delivering a satisfactory outcome.
? To facilitate establishment of data feeds from source systems towards provision of a comprehensive data warehouse. This may involve working with system supplier, Clinical System Development team, IT and other functions. To develop of the underlying data model and associated reporting.
? Design (Dimensional modelling) and develop the semantic layer (Universes) for the business intelligence environment (Business Objects) to support access to and reporting capabilities from the underlying data. Using appropriate business/clinical terminology, the objective is to provide a universe which is unambiguous which will provide the foundation for both the BI Team and end-user 'self-service' reporting.
? Production of underlying SQL (tables, views, stored procedures, SSIS packages etc.) to enable production of statutory datasets, ensuring local reporting reflects national submissions and nationally produced indicators.
? To enable SystmOne (community and mental health) reporting through the Data Warehouse to support development of the underlying data model/reporting universe based on the TPP Strategic reporting extract.
? Act as a senior report developer with extensive knowledge of clinical data structures and Trust's BI reporting infrastructure.
? Provide underlying functionality to enable replication of NHS Digital KPIs utilising the Trusts local extracts and provider Exeter extracts which will enable early visibility of trust performance prior to publication.
? Using reporting to support data quality ensuring integrity and completeness is maintained or improved

? Support the BI function to minimise disruption and ensure reporting continuity during changes to underlying data warehouse, BI toolsets and changes to source systems due to the Trust currently being in the process of changing clinical systems. This will result in the Bi function having to;
o maintain existing reporting commitments,
o manage customer expectations for new developments in light of system change,
o reengineer existing reports, extracting required query logic and adapting where necessary in line with new clinical system functionality,
o work with clinical service, system supplier, business change and clinical systems to ensure configuration meets reporting requirements,
o where possible maintain accessibility to and reporting from patient data captured from the legacy system.
? Ensure comprehensive technical documentation is created and maintained to a high standard, to enable a retrospective understanding of changes made to data structures.
? Standard and regular information requirements to be produced to deadlines and issued to relevant areas.
? Development of process for ensuring all developments are undertaken in a standardised manner which includes requirement gathering, creation of specification, testing cycle and sign-off. This will include post implementation evaluations.
? Utilisation of NHS Data Dictionary/NHS Digital and NHS England technical specifications in development of local and external reporting thereby ensuring reporting consistency.
? Participate in Trust clinical system development group and other relevant meeting as required.
? Provide advice, support and information analysis expertise to colleagues, senior managers, service managers and team leaders across the Trust.
? Using reporting to support data quality, integrity and completeness is maintained or improved.
? Analysis and interpretation of complex data models, processes and design of data structures.
? Provide expert technical reporting knowledge and guidance relating to SystmOne Mental Health Module and Rio.
? To ensure business continuity for all performance and information requirements by the use of matrix working and shared team responsibility and accountability.
