Grafton Banks Finance is currently looking for an ambitious Company Accountant for a rapidly growing, start up insurance organisation with offices in Central London.

Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Accountant, the main purpose of the role will be to assist with the monitoring of the financial control environment and ensure that such controls are of a high standard, consistently applied, appropriately documented and adapted in line with developments in the business. Some of the main responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and post accrual schedules for invoices received after the Accounts Payable close.

  • Prepares comprehensive month end files, fully supporting all balance sheet, off balance sheet and material profit & loss account balances.

  • Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and ad hoc/quarterly reforecasts and other financial planning tasks.

  • Maintain relationships with business unit management and administrative support staff.

  • Proactively review actual expenditure identifying changes required to budgets and forecasts maintained in the company’s financial forecasting business model.

The successful candidate will be a finalist (ACCA or CIMA) with sound experience of financial control, including year end statutory accounts, monthly commentaries and management accounts. Any exposure to the insurance/technology sector will prove to be highly advantageous but is not necessary.
