Job Purpose:
As the Senior Buyer of the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Development function, you will take a leading role and support the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Development Manager in defining and developing the controls, measures and reports to ensure that Procurement organisation delivers our strategic, short, medium and long term objectives. You will be required to deputise in the absence of the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Development Manager, covering all aspects of Procurement and man-management skills and duties. You will take specific responsibility for major elements of Procurement’s targets and ensure that robust controls and measures are in place. You will also take the lead in presenting a strategic overview for these elements / commodities and influence the Procurement Buyers sourcing approach. This clear strategic planning, together with the controls and measures put in place will form the road map for Aston Martin’s Procurement department going forward.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
• Support the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Development Manager & buyers in their day to day activity and delivery of objectives.
• Represent the department at cross functional meetings of all levels
• Able to analyse detailed data and translate this data into meaningful summaries.
• Develop and maintain our key Procurement KPI’s, across all Procurement functions and ensure that these KPI’s support the drive within the organisations performance.
• Ensure that Procurement is fully mobilised with regards to your specific elements / commodities and focused on our required deliverables.
• Liaise closely with Finance, wherever necessary, to ensure targets and results are aligned to those reported at a corporate level.
• Form part of the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Development team in defining and rolling out our strategy plans across the whole Department and other functions.
• Provide Procurement / Commercial input into cross functional teams that effectively contributes to the organisation’s goals.
• Together with the Procurement (TdC) Development Manager, implement clear and transparent processes, to ensure all Departments follow a standard approach.
• Support the development of a standard for each Departments strategic approach, whilst allowing the team’s lateral movement to express their strategies.
• Evaluate each department’s plans and assess any delivery risks and required mitigation where required to ensure delivery.
• Support the department in translating the businesses strategic requirements into clearly defined processes, where performance can be monitored and measured against expected results.
• Provide Procurement / Commercial analysis into cross-functional teams that effectively contributes to the organisation’s goals by applying a confident approach to teamwork.
• Support process improvement opportunities internally, as well as with the Supplier base, focussing on business ‘Best Practice’ initiatives.
• Have the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and hold reviews to discuss latest status and progress in meeting the organisational targets.
• Promote good supplier relationships, through supporting the development of a Supplier scorecard and eventually, the development of a Supplier awards system.
• Play an instrumental role in enabling the function to achieve its business objectives, through meeting or ideally exceeding defined objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Ideally educated to Degree level, preferably in line with the role requirements.
• Previous Procurement / Finance / Analyst experience is necessary.
• Understanding of the strategic role of the Procurement function and ability to work at this level.
• Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Microsoft Office & specifically Excel/ PowerPoint skills are required.
• Post holder should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require
