Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Project Manager (PM) is responsible for allocated project delivery, ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time, to budget and to the expected quality requirements.The primary purpose of this role is to support the DMP Programme to deliver the contract testing and support commitments by managing routine work, emergent work and reporting to achieve customer deadlines and SLAs whilst managing within budget caps.

The PM will also be responsible for providing support in establishing best practice, providing suggestions of improvements to the current processes, practices and methods, and looking for potential opportunities for improvements.

The PM has full accountability for the project management of all disciplines required to deliver the project(s) and growth of the SQEP skills base as required to deliver the Sensors BU Strategic Plan whilst supporting the direction of corporate vision and company goals.

Accountable for

* Definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of assigned project.
* Identifying, assessing and managing risks to the success of the project
* Ensures that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and provides regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
* Managing change control procedures, and ensures that project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.
* Provides effective leadership to the project team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed standards.

Key responsibilities/ duties

* Ensuring the Nuclear Professionalism and quality is at the forefront of all our activities.
* On-time delivery of key deliverables in accordance with the project plan and BU budget.
* Maintaining accurate financial records (using the tools provided) and project reports to provide weekly/months updates to key stakeholders on project performance against budget.
* Managing "Cost of Sales", through accurate management of internal labour and on-time receipt of supplier invoices.
* Managing workflow within the DMP team, accurately forecasting labour and creating integrated Project Schedules with the PMO Planner.
* On-time invoicing to optimize cash flow.
* Developing and Maintaining the Customer relationship(s) whilst achieving Project/ BU Objectives.
* Tasking the project team effectively to meet project deliverables
* Communicating effectively with Customer as the main Customer point of contact on the project, Project Team and other internal stakeholders and suppliers
* Adherence to Ultra Quality Management System and documentation control

Optimizing the use of SQEP resource to achieve the project/ BU objectives


* Is subject to the UENCS Quality Management System and associated processes
* Is governed through the monthly Business Unit project review process.
* Use of the 1-JEL Business Accounting System.

Qualifications/Skills Required

* Experience of working within an electromechanical manufacturing/production environment is beneficial
* Experience of transfer of product through productionisation is highly desirable
* Experience of factory/manufacturing facility is highly desirable
* Educated to HNC/HND level in a numerate subject, with one of the following formal project management qualifications:

* APM Certificated Project Manager (CPM)
* PRINCE2@ Practitioner
* PMI Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
* CMI Diploma in Programme & Project Management [DPPM]

* Typically 5 years successful delivery of medium sized projects,
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisions.
* Understand and demonstrate a competent level of knowledge of the Nuclear Industry is preferred.
* Exceptional oral and written communication skills in both informal settings and formal presentations.
