What is the purpose of this role?

To provide a full complement of specialist CCTV, Network & Access Control, both Reactive Maintenance & Pre-Planned Maintenance services at HMP Manchester.

What will this role involve?

•Maintain and repair the estates security systems in accordance with the Regulations, both reactive & planned preventative maintenance.
•Able to read building drawings and blueprints to understand and plan the layout of security systems.
•Fault finding, check, repair and make good faults. Life expired equipment Inspections.
•This role may include working at height and in all weather conditions.
•Assisting the Network Team with site supervision duties when required.
•Strict adherence to Company Health and Safety and operational policies.
•Undertake out of hour’s callout duties as per shift pattern & operational requirements.
•CTC (Security Clearances) will need to be obtained prior to start date.

What are we looking for?

•Broad knowledge of the following technologies: CCTV, IP video, Intelligent Video, video storage & archiving, Access control, display technologies and general Security system principles and practices.
•Good knowledge of technical infrastructure and integration technologies to include power, UPS, networking, communications,
•Experience of maintenance of large scale integrated security systems and complex systems.
•Network experience to include WAN, LAN, firewall, network switch technologies and video transmission on IP networks.
•Ability to quickly develop professional and trusted relationships with a variety of cultures and clients.
•Current full UK driving licence
•Excellent at managing own time
•Knowledge and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments
•Demonstrable previous work related experience
•Self-motivated & able to work without supervision
•Accurate measuring and scoping of works
•Good knowledge of current industry practice
•Problem solving
•Able to test / fault find / and install on domestic & commercial properties.
