Vacancy: MEP Design Coordinator

Established 25 years ago, this property development, hospitality and management group oversee mixed-use, residential, hotel and commercial projects across London and southern England. Their portfolio consists of over 5,900 homes, hotels, retail premises and commercial properties with a value in excess of £1Bn.
They are currently looking for an experienced electrically biased Engineer to join the MEP services team for the role of MEP Design Coordinator.
The position will be responsible for delivering the M&E aspects of projects in conjunction with the M&E Team and the Building Construction Teams. This work includes monitoring the M&E Client brief, review of sub-contractor tender packs, design co-ordination, managing the design issues on projects up to completion and handover and resolution of any problems post-handover.
Responsibilities:
• Liaise with the Construction Head of Design Coordination, M&E Team and external Consultant design personnel.
• Assist in Monitoring the receipt of design information
• Work actively with the Document Controllers, check that the M&E drawings and specifications received from the Design team; consultants and subcontractors are maintained in the records and are up-to-date.
• Be actively involved in the detailed review and analysis of the information received and the coordination of that information
Essential Skills:
• 5 years’ experience working in a M&E consultancy environment with an Electrical Bias
• Relevant Qualifications i.e. BTEC/ONC/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Ability to define and implement M&E Management depending on the circumstances and requirements
• Experience of working on complex M&E design projects.
• Design knowledge of varied M&E construction techniques and their implementation.
• Design knowledge of HVAC and PHE services
• Design knowledge of Electrical Services
• Understand RIBA stages.
• Understand efficiency/sustainability.
• Have knowledge and an understanding of BREEAM.
• Understand the best practice in Construction Design Management
• Good communicator – verbal and written
