Working with an advanced precision manufacturer who design and build their own specialist products using the latest electrical, electronic and mechanical technologies, would you enjoy the variety of electro-mechanical assembly, solving problems, suggesting design and assembly improvements, test, repairs, quality and get involved in research and development?

Can you accurately assemble all electrical and mechanical elements for high value precision equipment following manufacturing drawings to tight specifications using a variety of assembly and joining techniques including soldering and crimping through to testing?

What you will be doing as the Wire man / Mechanical Assembler:

• You will be wiring complex assemblies using wiring / circuit diagrams and assembling cable looms for this specialist manufacturer of some technically advanced equipment for a range of industries including automotive, aerospace, telecoms and other high volume production processes.

• You’ll be working at component level to assemble and repair printed circuit boards including surface mount devices and quality checking your and colleagues work accuracy
• If you have experience of programming PLC’s (e.g. Mitsubishi) this will allow you to get even more involved in the development of the products

• You’ll be assisting with the mechanical assembly of machines, frames and allied metalwork using a variety of tools and equipment to meet regulatory specifications and customer demands

Your profile to be the Wire man / Mechanical Assembler

• With a recognized engineering qualification, you should have 1- 2 years electrical and mechanical assembly experience with a “can do” approach. Product specific training will be given.

• You’ll be able to work accurately with a high attention to detail and use your engineering skills to produce high quality products following SOP’s and electro-mechanical drawings to completing manual and electrical testing.

• An understanding of PLC programming would be advantageous

• Problem solving skills will stretch your reasoning and thinking skills and allow you to contribute to better ways of doing things or developing concepts and new ideas so good communication and a team player ethos are important

Salary and benefits: £20 - 23,000 + 3% pension, 25 days holiday + 8 statutory, profit based bonus
