Maintenance Technician

Are you a Maintenance Technician, seeking a new opportunity with a growing business based in Crawley? Do you have an electro-mechanical background, with an electrical qualification? If so, my client is interested in speaking with you. As a mass producer of consumable products, you will be part of a team responsible for the reactive and planned maintenance of the packaging machinery associated with the produce they make.

What is on offer?
• Competitive hourly rate/salary - £30000-£35000 per annum
• 5 day working week – Saturday work with a day off in the week
• During summer months – April – September, shift will be afternoons 1pm-10pm
• During winter months – October – March, shift will be 8am-5pm

Purpose of Position
To assist in efficient running of the production facility

Accountabilities:
• Efficient running of the site plant & machinery
• Planned and reactive maintenance
• Health & Safety

Responsibilities and Duties:
• To repair machinery quickly and report any major issues immediately
• To complete all paperwork pertaining to repairs
• To carry out and administer the company’s planned maintenance program and associated paperwork and ensure it is completed
• To liaise with the production management team and subcontractors
• To assist Senior Site Engineer with projects and factory improvement works
• To assist Production Supervisor when on Night Shifts
• To adhere to all procedures set out in the company’s quality manual
• To review and respond to health and safety issues

Maintenance Technician

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Technical Knowledge/Qualifications:
• Engineering or production related knowledge or experience in an engineering/production environment
• Electrical qualification – 17th edition/NVQ/ Apprenticeship served
• Good understanding of Health and Safety Requirements

Experience:
• Minimum of 18-24 month’s experience in a production environment or engineering role (required).
• Experience with packing equipment lines or bag forming machines (required).

• Good communication and organizational skills
• Accuracy and an attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A methodical approach to work
• Some degree of computer literacy

Miscellaneous
• Must be flexible with working hours as night shifts are required seasonally
• To note – at times will be working in cold wet environment
