TAA Recruitment are currently looking for a Technical CNC Machining Cost Estimator and Account Manager to join our client working within a revolutionary tech manufacturing startup.

The Technical CNC Estimator will ensure machined components are priced as required and quotations are issued to customers in a timely manner. The Estimator will be responsible for the creation and development of new and existing estimates. The role requires the ability to communicate well with suppliers and customers in both a commercial and technical context.

Specific Duties;

• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials and labour for CNC machining, including 5 axis.
• Read engineering drawings and technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with engineers, customers and suppliers.
• Use computer software to calculate estimates, this should include the ability to competently use CAD packages – SolidWorks / AutoCAD, the ability to measure components and draft using a cad package is required.

• Knowledge of tooling required
• Evaluate a product’s cost-effectiveness or profitability.
• Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable.
Ability to contribute towards improving the efficiency of the internal costing process, including recommending new software and systems that you will have experience of. Ability to analyse manufacturing data and present the findings to the business as and when required.
Ability to communicate with customers in the manner of an account manager. Display awareness of cutting-edge and competitive manufacturing processes across all commodities.

Experience/Skills:

CNC Machining background essential including knowledge of set up times, run times. Knowledge of Injection Moulding costing would be a plus.
Must have working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD drawing packages and Model viewers, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Demonstrated ability to review drawings, visualise the product in detail, create a mental picture of the manufacturing methods and steps required to produce the item, and estimate time required to prepare and perform each process.
Must be able to deal with customers and suppliers in a professional manner. Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and make deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail
