Group Engineering Manager with a Maintenance bias to join a succesful Manufacturing business

The role

To provide engineering managerial support for the Group to ensure PPM /TPM activities are conducted across the Group and ensure all legislative and H+S activities are compliant to the highest standards

*Managing all engineering activities and projects to ensure compliance with all local and statutory health , safety , environmental and quality requirements-18001 ,14001

* Manage a team of permanent engineering staff and contractors

* Lead discussions with the business to identify the engineering requirements and respond with proposed actions and timescales

*Consult and co-ordinate with other internal and Group functions where necessary to ensure the appropriate utilisation of time and resources

* Ensure a balanced approach to workload , making critical decisions regarding the short term and unplanned activities and longer term pririties

* Work with the MD in the development of engineering budgets

* Ensure that any expenditure is within agreed budgets , authorising ordering of goods/services and authorising payments

* Develop strategic plans for capital investment schemes and production improvement programs , preparing reports on engineering justifications and implications

* Play a key role in the development of engineering standards and best practice

* Ensure where necessary the following is completed : structured risk assessment , procurement specification , and documentation/implementation of appropriate operating and maintenance procedures

* Provide monthly reports on capital and revenue spend for all significant projetcs

The person

A fully trained multi-skilled Engineer

Experience of managing a team of Maintenance Staff and PPM schedules

Experience of working with medium to heavy industrial plant

A good knowledge of fault finding on plant equipment and working on semi-automated plant with PLC

Excellent IT skills

A NEBOSH Qualification is desirable
