Job Title – Maintenance Engineer

Location – Didcot (Oxford)

Salary - £39996 per annum, plus overtime (x1.5 for Days)

Shifts – 3 on 3 off, 2 on 2 off (Permanent Days – 6am – 6pm)

Benefits – Double Matched Pension (Employee Contribution 5%, Employer Contribution 10%), plus Company Share save Scheme and weekly production bonus.

The Company

Our client specialises in the manufacturing of products for the construction market. With over 20 manufacturing sites across the UK, this multi-million pound company have been investing heavily across both their production and quarry sites to help meet an ever increasing market demand for construction materials.

Their Didcot site specialises in the manufacture of concrete blocks and with demand rising sharply, the site have been forced to go onto 7 day a week production to keep up with orders. As such they have had to double the number of employees on site, across both Production and Engineering.

The site is also due to have a full plant upgrade in 2017, to further increase production capacity through having more up to date efficient lines. They are currently extending their storage capacity to build up enough stock to enable the shut down for plant upgrade.

The Role

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing Electrical and Mechanical repairs on all production plant equipment. This includes storage bins and silos, mixers, agitators, conveyors, chain drives, hydraulic presses and robotic palletisers.

The vast majority of the hands on work will be Electrical in nature (80%). The Maintenance Engineer will need to be able to fault find with a multimeter or via the PLC through to inputs and outputs and then change components such as contactors, relays, inverters, switches, plus load, proximity and photocells.

Mechanically the Maintenance Engineer required to fault find down to component and then strip and replace parts from stores. Components include hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, compressors, hoses, rams, cylinders, bearings, rollers, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, shafts and ratchets.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

* Must have a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or Equivalent Qualification
* Must have experience performing Maintenance Tasks on Automated Production lines
