Job title - Assistant Accountant
Reporting to - Finance Manager

Headquartered in Harefield (near Uxbridge) and with offices in San Francisco, Singapore and Beijing, we specialise in delivering exceptional, strategic marketing, PR and results-driven integrated campaigns that cross media and regional barriers.

Overall purpose of role;
Due to continued business growth, we’re looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to support the finance function of April Six UK, USA, Singapore and Beijing, as well as April Six Proof (our sister PR agency) based in central London. This role will be based at our Head Office in Harefield.

Key responsibilities of the role;
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
- Assist with the preparation of the year-end accounts
- Assist with the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast process
- Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Credit control (chase by e-mail and phone)
- Control account reconciliation and month-end working schedules
- Preparing prepayment and accrual journals.
- Analyzing overhead actuals v budget and reviewing the variances.
- Comfortable with working with foreign currency transactions
- Preparing VAT returns
- Bank reconciliation (in GBP, USD, SGD, Euro and RMB)
- Processing payroll
- Ad-hoc duties as required

Essential skills / experience / attributes;
- Comfortable working in multi-currency
- High degree of flexibility with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- The ideal candidate will have proven substantial experience of working within a busy accounts team and will be at least part qualified
- A team player, working closely with another Assistant Accountant and Accounts Assistant to ensure efficient running of the Accounts department of five companies
- Have a mature and professional approach to work
- Able to prioritise their own work load
- Work on own initiative and under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – especially
- Knowledge of V-lookup and Pivot table knowledge will be useful
- Knowledge to Sage X3 will be beneficial

Remuneration
Circa £30,000 - £33,000 (depending on experience) with 25 days holiday per year. There will be a four-month probation period. Following successful completion of this period, health care (currently BUPA) will be added to the package
