Have you recently graduated with a core subject degree and are looking for some paid experience in the subject Department of a bustling Secondary School as an Intervention Support Assistant?

Would you benefit from a year’s Graduate Intervention Support Assistant experience prior to starting your PGCE?

This Intervention Support Assistant role is perfect for a recent, high achieving graduate, ideally from a Russell Group who wants relevant experience in a Secondary School, before considering a PGCE or other teacher training. Experience working with children and/or young people is required, though not necessarily from a school setting.

We are searching for an ambitious and career minded high achieving graduate who has gained at least a 2:1 in a core subject degree. Ideally you will have attended a Russell Group University and have strong A Levels to boot. You should have a passion for education and be focussed on a career in teaching. The school are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate their up to date knowledge and skills to engage pupils. You do not need to have previous experience in a Secondary school, however you must have worked with children/ young people and have good subject knowledge which will allow you to tutor children on the national curriculum.

This Intervention Support Assistant post will see you support the learning of children both inside and outside of the classroom. You will be specifically assigned to your subject department to assist their fantastic teachers. Day to day you will help pupils on a one to one basis and in small group exercises. The experienced teachers you work with will help you to develop your own skills as you look to progress in your own career.
