Payroller and Accounts Assistant
Newmarket
£19,000 - £24,000

This company, who have been established for over 30 years and are a market leader in their field, are looking for an experienced Payroller to join their team. With primary responsibility for Payroll as well as other accountancy tasks, this role offers the benefit of variety with no two days ever being the same!

Working in bespoke offices, this company believe in investing in staff offering cross training within finance to ensure a diverse range of duties and tasks.

You will be responsible for:

Completing weekly payroll including processing timesheets, payslips and HMRC returns
Answering queries with regard to pay
Administering holiday and sickness benefits
Producing weekly PAYE update
Collecting invoices for weekly subcontractors
Dealing with Cash Receipts, banking and posting to Sales Ledger
Raising sundry sales invoices
Dealing with Petty Cash
Assisting with Purchase and Sales Ledger duties including organising Purchase Order numbers and invoice processing
Other accounting duties as required
Expenses management
Fleet management
Other tasks as required

To be successful in your application, you will have strong payroll experience and be happy to work in a role offering variety across the accounts function. You will be able to take full ownership of your daily tasks, be hard-working and able to work to weekly deadlines. You will have strong attention to detail and be a team player. You will be IT literate with good Excel skills.

This role would be suitable for candidates currently working as Payrollers, Accounts Assistants, Bookkeepers and Purchase or Sales Ledger Clerks.

This role is commutable from Thetford, Mildenhall, Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and all surrounding villages.
