Job Title: Graduate Test Engineer –Robotics & Motion Control

Salary: £25-£30k

Location: Warrington

Perpetual Partnerships are a North West based recruitment consultancy part of a larger group of engineering companies, with a significant track record of supporting the key goals of organisations within the engineering community. We are currently in the process of seeking a Test Engineer to test end products.

The role

Our client designs, assembles and manufactures bespoke automated systems for the pharmaceutical industry, and with a turnover in excess of GBP£120 million, lead the global market in their product space. With a growth of 38% in the last 12 months are seeking a graduate or junior test engineer to join their dynamic manufacturing team.

The Test Engineer role will be based in the manufacturing area in the workshop and will be responsible for testing automated and robotic assemblies to ensure they are fit for purpose and operate as designed; tasks will include:

* Setting up and carrying out hardware tests on system modules
* Monitoring of hardware faults
* Utilising automation software to test-run assemblies through full range of operational tasks

* Identifying any problems/errors during the test and reporting to the Engineering teams.
* Applying analytical methods to find the failure cause
* Serves as the primary technical interface with both design (Mechanical, Electrical and Software departments) and manufacturing teams to prepare, perform and report on test activities required.
* Writing detailed test reports.

The person

* Degree qualified, preferably in an electromechanical discipline
Further qualifications or some experience gained in motion control is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

* Logical thinking, and methodical approach to problem solving.
* Willingness to learn and tackle new technologies
* Hands on test, repair or maintenance background within a hardware or electromechanical product environment.
* Excellent PC skills and report writing skills. Predominately Excel and Word.
* An ability to record actions step by step in order to retrace steps when an issue is found.
* Excellent attention to detail and an eye for spotting anomalies.
