We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join theArchitecture team to lead technology direction for Aviva. The teamoperate as highly visible owners of technology areas, responsible fordeveloping, agreeing and executing direction.The role will be focused on working across the UK and Aviva Group toensure that we maximise the use of technologies as platforms in sharedareas and drive synergies through development and operationalising ofnew technologies.This role:The Solution Architecture role is accountable for creating end-to-endsolutions for each of Aviva's key initiatives and feature teams withinthe UK and provide leadership for engineering of solutions across AvivaThe role is in place to: Define end-to-end solutions for significant IT change Ensures designs are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service, and security point of view Deliver solutions that progress the overall architecture journey and are aligned to Aviva's IT Strategy Ensure a high standard of design is achieved across Aviva and consistency of approach to design is in place where appropriate Manage overall pool of design talent to ensure capability for Aviva is built in line with demand and that individual initiatives are resourced in a timely fashionKey experience and skills: Create solutions and design for projects to meet Aviva's standards for technology and ensure they meet our ambitions for availability, security, resilience and performance Provide leadership on key designs to ensure the long term strategic goals of Aviva IT are met as well as short term project needs Lead the design community across Aviva Group to ensure continued improvements to Aviva's design approach take place Responsible for the integrity of the end-to-end solution, including transition states used to achieve the target state Ensure design artefacts are produced to support stakeholder group for service, security, architecture and engineering Ensure compliance to policies, standards and target architecture through Build Permit process and granting and tracking of exceptions by designers Produce design options with associated costs, benefits and risks to enable investment decisions Work with product owners, architects and platform leads to agree trade offs between, long-term and short term goals Shape and estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints, ensuring that component parts deliver against business outcomes Run design reviews on key areas of the existing IT estate in support of wider initiatives to improve service, security and reduce estate complexityKey Experience Significant experience of operating at senior management levels Excellent understanding of IT strategy, architecture models, business model and plans. Experience of both line and matrix leadership. Ability to anticipate future trends and needs as well as managing current environment. Strong analytical capability and background Ability to think long-term strategically and operationally. Knowledge of market issues and dynamics. Heightened relationship management skills at all levels A leaderAs well as the technical role the Solution Architect will be expected tobe an active part of the community and contribute towards the sharing ofknowledge, decisions, patterns and lessons learnt to improveproductivity and enhance capability.Additional InformationWhat will you get for this role?
