Our client is a provider of accommodation and property management services, offering a comprehensive service to landlords, tenants, corporates and other property owners and investors. It is part of a larger group and it’s accounting is currently undertaken as part of the group activity. They are experiencing sustained growth and now need a capable and experienced qualified accountant to join the management team in the number one finance role. Working closely with the Group Finance Director, the role will involve carving out the business from the group to effect a stand alone accounting function, with its own systems, processes and controls. Managing a small team, the role will be varied and include the following: Month end management accounting and information packs KPI reporting Budgeting and cashflow forecasting Cost control Liaison with third parties including banks, customers and suppliers Year end work and liaison with external accountants Ad hoc analytical support for the owners and Group FD Control of relevant databases VAT Payroll In addition, the company will wish to undergo a crowdfunding exercise in due course and therefore, this type of experience or similar would be really valuable. To be successful in this role, you will ideally be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience gained in a property/lettings management, social housing or similar business. You will be technically competent, commercial, hands on, team focussed and be looking for the next big challenge in your career. You will be capable of operating in a fast paced environment whilst managing multiple tasks and possess a genuine desire to add real value to the ongoing financial reporting and development of the business through timely and accurate management information.
