Our client based in the Peterborough area is looking to recruit a Level 4 Support Engineer on a fulltime permanent basis. This role will involve looking after one large client and all its Computer needs for its Data Centre. This will include all Network, Server and storage operations. In time a team will be built to help maintain the business relationship.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Experience in a senior operational support role (3rd line minimal) within a medium to large sized enterprise, including support of the following:

- Support and optimization of in-house systems

- Client and server Operating Systems

- Enterprise infrastructure, networking, storage and compute

- Database infrastructure and administration

- Security, encryption and Data Loss Prevention

- Vulnerability and malware threat prevention

- Infrastructure and application capacity, performance and availability monitoring

- Clustering and High Availability

- Backups and Disaster Recovery

- Server virtualization technologies

- Email, telephony and Unified Communications

- Datacentre infrastructure

- Proven Continual Service Improvement experience

- Experience of scripting and PowerShell

- Strong knowledge of Office 365 technologies

- Excellent technical self-management skills

Desirable Skills

- Solution design and implementation for small to mid-size businesses

- Experience of quotation and purchasing processes

- Experience of Visio for system and network designs and discovery

- Strong understanding of at least one storage platform

- Demonstrate management and implementation of monitoring solution

Desirable Qualifications

At least one of the below must be held

- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)

- Project management methodology certification - foundation level

The role will involve some European travel as the data centre is relocating to the UK in the next month or so and so you will be involved in the transition of this move working closely with the clients customer. You will also be commuting initially for the first 3 months to The Milton Keynes area but after that you will be based locally.
