QA Analyst, Automated Testing
QA Analyst, Automated Testing
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, technical, Senior QA Analyst to join an innovative company who have recently moved their head office to Oxford. Having built a state of the art test lab, they are looking to implement an ambitious test automation strategy. Whilst manual testing has been used historically, and will continue in some areas, following the launch of the next generation of their products, my client has taken significant steps towards automated testing within an Agile approach.
Acting within a true QA capacity, as opposed to purely testing, the QA Analyst will be planning and specifying testing solutions across web applications, mobile and devices. The QA Analyst will be working on the existing framework using SpecFlow for web-application automated acceptance testing, but will also be responsible for solving new test automation challenges such as Mobile Device testing.
Looking to make automated testing an integral part of the SDLC and release process, the QA Analyst will plan and specify the (automated and/or manual) functional testing required for new and updated features (stories), being responsible for acceptance testing and regression testing sign off.
Working closely with highly experienced developers in solving technical challenges, the QA Analyst should have a strong technical background.
The Company and Benefits
Delivering their technology-driven solutions to a global client base, my client has used technology to disrupt and revolutionise the logistics and supply chain business, increasing service, whilst reducing cost. As one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK, there are great opportunities for personal growth and progression.
Based in state of the art offices on the Oxford Science Park, my client works hard to maintain a great working atmosphere, providing flexible hours to total a 37.5 hour week and home-working opportunities, whilst offering 25 days holiday, rising to 30 days and a pension contribution.
What do I need?
My client seeks an experienced, Senior, Technical QA Analyst, whose experience covers both manual and automated testing tools and techniques. Whilst the QA Analyst will receive full domain training where necessary, the skills and experiences that are going to be of most interest and relevance include:
- QA experience across a broad range of products – web, mobile and device – with an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different QA practices/strategies
- Experience of designing/using the Cucumber / Selenium WebDriver / Gherkin stack
- Experience of designing and running appropriate load tests (Locust / JMeter)
- Experience of TDD and BDD tools/techniques, ideally including SpecFlow
- Understanding and experience of the Agile software development lifecycle and Agile testing
