Part Time Marketing Officer/Client Support Advisor , award-winning funeral directors. London (Tooting). 3 to 4 days per week, with flexibility on working pattern. FTE £24-26K. (ref: 1728)
Our client believe that funerals have the potential to be life and grief-changing experiences. With an open and honest approach, they encourage, reassure, guide and support families to have the funeral that they want - whatever that means to them. They are growing really quickly, and know they are onto something great with their approach. (In fact, they have had this confirmed this by winning lots of awards!)
This role will have a strong involvement in the development and delivery of a grass roots marketing strategy. Acting as a brand ambassador, promoting and embodying our clients values, and supporting colleagues to do the same. You will be responsible for giving tours and speaking passionately about our clients work on and off site.
In addition to this you will share responsibility within the small and growing team, for welcoming clients, whether in person, on the telephone or by email and informing, supporting, guiding and empowering them in their personal funeral choices. You will have the opportunity to organise provisional funeral arrangements and will be relied upon to chase relevant paperwork. Within the role you will also be involved in:
- Supporting the Funeral Directors by assisting with funeral arrangements
- Leading meetings and completing paperwork for Simple Cremations
- Sharing ‘on call’ responsibilities with the rest of the team
(Our client is currently a small team, so you’ll also need to be ready to work flexibly and get involved in duties and projects beyond your job description when necessary)
Crucially, our client expects everyone on the team to be able and willing to develop a sound understanding of the gentle, thoughtful, natural way they care for the deceased in their mortuary, even if they have no prior experience of this work. Full training will be given, as well as support and guidance as required.

Ideally, in addition, candidates will need to be physically fit and able to drive, with a full clean driving licence
This Tooting based position may from time to time require the candidate to across Greater London. With a salary of c£24-26K FTE, depending on skills and experience, along with a generous holiday entitlement of 32 days (including Bank Holidays) – pro-rated for hours worked and a very flexible and warm working environment.
Our client respects employee's time and really do want to give as much flexibility as they can to their team – however the candidate will need to make sure they are available to their clients when required. Their normal hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday but should also have a flexible working approach and keen to accommodate the needs and best working patterns, for the right candidate, wherever possible.
Very occasionally, you’ll need to be available for weekend funerals. You’ll also need to be flexible enough to start early and end late when necessary (again, not often!). You’ll be generously reimbursed for your extra time and given time off in lieu.
Interviews to be held May 15th – 17th and shortlisted candidates will have the opportunity to spend a few hours behind the scenes with the client, at a prearranged time, between May 8th – 25th in order to see in closer detail what we do and how it all works.
