B2B Media and Social Media Relations Manager £75,000 - £80,000 per annum plus London weighting and car allowance Contract - 12-18 months FTC The B2B Media and Social Media Relations Manager is responsible for running a communications programme to establish a leading UK bank and its brands as a leading SME banking proposition across the UK. You will create and implement a programme of communications across multiple channels, including press and broadcast media as well as social media. Reporting into the Head of Consumer Communications, this role drives external communications for the business banking offering and involves creating a strategic plan to raise the business bank's presences within UK based SMEs. The role: Contributing to reports prepared by the board by other members of the consumer communications team, as well as assisting the department head with reports, research and briefings as needed. Acting as the point of contact for the UK and Scottish media outlets in the SME space, responding to information requests from media and pitching story ideas to secure positive coverage. Identifying and leading positive responses and support frameworks to help mitigate the impact of risk and other business issues which could impact the bank. Identifying key influencers to collaborate with on content creation for social channels. Creating social media content and content for other digital channels to communicate a positive message about the bank's SME offering. Managing campaigns with media and across social media for the SME business, including managing agency relationships. Organising events for SME clients to build up the bank's profile and demonstrate how they support business banking clients. Acting as a media spokesperson for the SME media, the post-holder will have highly developed UK-wide news, news business and personal finance media relationships which they will build and manage on behalf of the bank and wider group. About you: Proven track record of dealing with UK media outlets. Subject matter expertise in media and communications within a large financial services organisation. Proven experience of communicating to senior management and senior executives. Indicative experience within communications/corporate affairs at a practical level. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in media relations. Knowledge of UK Corporate Affairs.
