Network Engineer - Sandwich, Kent
CK group are recruiting for a Messenger Engineer to join a multi national company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Sandwich, Kent on a contract basis for 3 months. The main purpose of the role will be to: Perform ticket management of all items related to messaging services. Analyse, respond, restore, resolve, and escalate problems/issues/changes as needed. Be involved in the maintenance and configuration of messaging applications, servers, services including any minor, major, security and emergency patches & releases. Install production releases or upgrades to application software (including routine patches and service packs) and document and maintain operational installation instructions for release to production by the Messaging Services team. Evaluate, test, pilot, document and implement new software upgrades, service packs, tools, as required by the Messaging Services team. Support any messaging services tools that are used in conjunction with Exchange, or other messaging applications. Perform & participate in knowledge management, problem management and change management (Request for Change - RFC) tasks and procedures. Create, update and maintain server recovery, operational, build & decommission SOPs, checklists and Work Instructions for messaging applications and infrastructure. Support Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and testing with respect to application recovery. Perform any documentation requirements. Review and analyse business and technical requirements, recommend changes and improvements to the messaging environment. Monitor and maintain proper SLAs and CSATs for messaging services support tasks. Engage, provide operational interface, and respond to recommendations / diagnostics from any messaging services vendors or third parties as required. May include vendor management activities. Provide updates to self-help end-user self-service mechanism(s) including creation and editing Knowledge Base Articles (KBA's) and other articles and web sites. Provide assistance with security or legal investigations following the Client's standard processes. Monitor Exchange performance and capacities and propose necessary changes and adjustments for known problems or issues. Perform or assist with any mailbox migrations or moves as necessary to complete software/hardware upgrades, decommissions, acquisitions and divestitures for any of the messaging services (e.g. Corporate Email, Instant Messaging, Mobility, Email Archiving, Perimeter Technologies, Toolsets, etc.) Provide any required reports or updated data feeds as needed by Messaging Services. Provide Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) activities as required to improve systems and processes. In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Strong experience in Information Technologies discipline and strong skills with MS Exchange 2016, Office 365. Overall experience of tech lead as highlighted above with experience in supporting Exchange Infrastructure ( Currently Exchange 2016) You will have troubleshooting in Exchange server-related issues. Expert troubleshooting skills on Windows clustering and Exchange, high availability and disaster recovery areas. Expert technical knowledge of Active Directory concepts especially around dependencies with Exchange. Strong skills with networking concepts, Windows operating systems. Intermediate skills with scripting tools, power shell experience desired. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global Pharmaceutical company at their site based in Sandwich, Kent.
