Senior Care Assistant / Team Leader
Role: Team Leader Location: The Lawns Nursing Home Hourly rate: £9.00 per hour dependant on qualifications and experience. Hours: 38.5 hours per week working on a rota basis Qualification: NVQ level 3 and the Care Certificate To Apply We are very happy to accept your CV. What will you be doing as a Team Leader?: You will work as part of a team of nurses, carers, activity co-ordinators, housekeeping and kitchen staff. You will help to organise and run the shift and work closely with the Nurse on duty. Whilst ensuring that all tasks are satisfactorily completed, you will monitor the performance of the Care Assistants and undertake observations as necessary. You will also support new staff with their training and helping them to complete their Care Certificate. You will get to know the residents and support them in all aspects of their care needs. You will maintain and promote the resident’s independence wherever possible, but you will probably be supporting them with washing, toileting, dressing to ensure that they retain their comfort and dignity. You will follow personal care plans and you add to written daily records To support residents emotional wellbeing you will work with the activities coordinator with planned social activities and interact with residents to enable them to continue with hobbies and activities in the home. Along with the Nurse you will complete Infection Control checks Some residents with dementia may be confused and may need additional support and monitoring Along with the nursing team you will assist in the end of life care of residents who are terminally ill, ensuring dignity and respect. At all times you will be aware of safeguarding our vulnerable residents, be cheerful and compassionate by nature, reliable and trustworthy Full support and training will be given to you to allow you to carry out your day to work and to achieve required qualifications.
