A great opportunity has risen for a Waking Night Support Worker to be part of a team providing specialist support in a newly expanded respite service, supporting young people (aged 16+) with complex learning disabilities to have a happy and meaningful life. Haymill Close Respite Service offers the opportunity for the people we support to have a change from their daily routine, while their families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are receiving the very best care in a safe environment. The individuals that use the service are a diverse group of people with learning disabilities, whose behaviour challenges. We offer individualised and tailored support to meet their particular needs, strengths and interests. Therefore, you will work collaboratively with the families and the people we support to develop positive relationships, greater independence and to build their self esteem. Working on a rota as part of an established team, you will use person centred approaches in a fast paced environment to meet the outcomes and life style choices of the people you support. Key to your success will be your ability to build rapport with the people we support, being adaptable and able to develop good relationships with colleagues in the service. A strong positive attitude is essential for this position, along with a willingness to provide various levels of personal care and support.
