Metallurgist

A Metallurgist is required in Sheffield to join a leading manufacturing business who supply an array of metals based products to a highly successful industry. With a turnover of over £100M PA, and over 500 employees, this is a superb opportunity for a metallurgist to add a well-known market leader to their resume. This role will suit a candidate who is looking at building and developing a strong career within a technical field with future growth opportunities. Metallurgist responsibilities and duties include: - Determining process routes through the manufacturing facility and get involved with contract review. - Calculate melt charges to exact chemistry requirements - Working closely with the Production and Quality departments to help improve products and processes. - Conducts approval trials on new raw materials - Process compliance checks Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing would be keen to speak with candidates with the following skills and experiences: - Degree qualified in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or Engineering if it had some Materials Science modules - Knowledge of hot metals manufacturing environment - Previously worked with any type of metals including Steel, Nickel, Titanium and Aluminium - Experienced in using modern lean tools and techniques
